Switch & Data looks like they will be purchased by Equinix. Both of these companies are nationwide with numerous data centers.  The largest local Switch & Data facility is the former Layer One space that takes up an entire floor in the telecom hotel 2323 Bryan.  For clients of either companies they probably will not notice a change.  For Switch & Data clients service might improve as they were notorious for every bit of minutia having to get approval from the head quarters in Florida.
